Docents Learn the Incredible Process of  Plants -Inside and Out!
Plants Inside Out training for volunteers was a great way to begin preparations for welcoming middle school classes to The Gardens for Free Discovery Field Trips in Alabama’s largest-living museum! The Gardens welcomed eight volunteers on Tuesday; the first volunteers to create a middle school specialist docent group. Education staff guided labs including making leaf impressions from real plant material, leaf chromatography and a gas experiment in the Conservatory using technology.
The program goals target photosynthesis and make the invisible more visible through interactive and hands on science based labs.
Plants Inside Out has been made possible by The James Milton & Sallie R. Johnson Foundation.
